About the Course

This course is designed for novice or young hunters, ages 9 years and above. The course covers the core competencies of firearm and bowhunting safety, hunting ethics and wildlife conservation. All materials are provided. The Bowhunter Education Classroom Course lasts a maximum of 6 hours of classroom instruction. This time does not include registration, breaks, test administration and certification card distribution. Courses are offered across the state year round and are taught by certified volunteer instructors. The fee for the certification is $15. Some instructors may apply additional charges for the class, such as range or facility fees. Pre-registration is required. Check with the instructor for directions and any special instructions prior to going to class.

When you arrive at the course:

  1. Pay the fee to the instructor.
  2. Attend the entire course.
  3. Take the written exam and get at least 75% correct to pass.
  4. Upon successful completion, you may receive a temporary card from the instructor. You may legally hunt with a valid Texas hunting license and your temporary certification card. Your permanent Texas Hunter Education certification card will be available for downloading and printing from your Account Profile.

The fee is $15.00 Cash,  check in starts at 10:00AM class starts on time at 10:15AM. Bowhunter course will cover the responsible of a Bowhunter. The three (3) different type of bows, the different types of arrows used for Bowhunting. The types of arrow heads available for Bow hunting and fishing. You also have the privilege of taking a test with a total of 25 questions you must make a 76 are better.  I will furnish the book, pencils, test questions and the answer sheet.  The book is yours to keep. All you need to bring is a  happy face with a smile. We talk about the placement of the arrow for taking down the game with a clean ethical kill. We will cover some of the challenges of Bowhunting, the big one Archery safety while bowhunting.   We cover the different parts of the bows, and arrows.  Tree stand safety, and how to calculate the distance from an elevate stand. I have two different type's of bows to look at and touch, plus some of the arrows and arrow heads. We will cove some of the game laws for the State of Texas.
