A Hunter’s Education Course is scheduled on September 27, 2025, from 10 am to 4 pm at Lockhart State Park.  Please inform the park ranger at the entrance that you are attending the Hunter’s Education class and the entrance fee will be waived.  The class will be composed of a PowerPoint presentation, interactive discussions and hands-on activities. Students will also participate in a live fire exercise with air rifles and all equipment will be provided but students are permitted to bring their own eyes and ear protection if they prefer. Please do not bring any firearms or ammunition. There will be a working lunch in which students will watch videos while they eat, so please bring a lunch, snacks, and a drink. There is no convenience store located nearby to purchase food or drinks. I will provide free bottled water for the class.  Since we will have a live fire exercise all minors will need to have their parents or guardians print and complete the waiver form then bring it with them to class. I will send the form as an attachment to a class reminder email closer to the class date. Students will not be able to participate in the live fire exercise without the waiver. If circumstances will prevent you from attending class, please notify me ASAP so that I can add students from my waiting list. Please arrive at 9:45 am to check in, that way we can begin class on time. Please bring the exact $15 course fee if possible.  If you have any questions, please contact Paul Silva at paulssilva60@gmail.com.
