A Hunter’s Education Course is scheduled for September 12, 2026, from 10 am to 4 pm at Lockhart State Park located at 2012 State Road off Farm Road 20 in Lockhart, Texas.  Students will participate in an interactive class with a PowerPoint presentation to learn the basics of hunting, including etiquette, ethics, safety, conservation, rules and regulations and different types of firearm actions. Students will also participate in a live fire exercise, and all equipment will be provided but students are permitted to bring their own eyes and ear protection if they prefer. Please do not bring any firearms or ammunition. There will be a working lunch during which students will view videos while they eat, so please bring a lunch, snacks, and a drink. I will provide free bottled water for the class.  Since we will have a live fire exercise, all minors will need to have their parents or guardians print and complete the attached waiver forms then bring it with them to class. Students will not be able to participate in the live fire exercise without the waiver. If circumstances will prevent you from attending class, please notify me ASAP so that I can add students from my waiting list. Please arrive at 9:45 am to check in, that way we can begin class on time.  Please bring the exact certification fee of $15 if possible. If you have any questions, please contact Paul Silva at paulssilva60@gmail.com or 361-726-6374.
