About the Course
Anyone born on or after September 1, 1993 who wishes to operate certain vessels on the public waterways of Texas. See Water Safety Act for details. Boating courses are taught by TPWD Boater Education certified instructors, US Coast Guard Auxiliary and game wardens. With more and more people enjoying the lakes and rivers every year, it's important, for everyone, that boaters educate themselves on boating skills and seamanship. All classes are a minimum of six hours. More questions? Check our FAQ page.
Boater Education Class offered as part of the Outdoor Trails curriculum at Briarhill Middle School, Lewisville ISD. Open to students of BMS only, unless arranged with course instructor, Coach Martz. This course will be taught over a two week period, in class, daily, using AV materials supplied by TPWD as well as the Boat Texas book.
