About the Course

Anyone born on or after September 1, 1993 who wishes to operate certain vessels on the public waterways of Texas. See Water Safety Act for details. Boating courses are taught by TPWD Boater Education certified instructors, US Coast Guard Auxiliary and game wardens. With more and more people enjoying the lakes and rivers every year, it's important, for everyone, that boaters educate themselves on boating skills and seamanship. This is a private class for Skiin' with the Galilean Captains and Lake Athens Property Owners Association Members It will be from 8:30 - 4:00 at the Oakwood Clubhouse. Please bring a sack lunch and dock line. It is free for SWTG. $20 for LAPOA members (please bring cash). The $20 goes to TPWD. The Boater Education Card is required for all operators 13 and older, born after September 1, 1993. It also provides a discount on your Marine insurance. This is a live class with boat and dock models, actual equipment, live presentation, hands on practice, and Q&A.
