About the Course

Anyone born on or after September 1, 1993 who wishes to operate certain vessels on the public waterways of Texas. See Water Safety Act for details. Boating courses are taught by TPWD Boater Education certified instructors, US Coast Guard Auxiliary and game wardens. With more and more people enjoying the lakes and rivers every year, it's important, for everyone, that boaters educate themselves on boating skills and seamanship. Become a skilled boater!

Enroll in  America's Boating Course, which provides you with basic boating knowledge to decide what type and size boat you need, what to do when meeting another boat in a crowded waterway, and how to recognize and handle other boating situations.  Become a more competent boater.  Learn from the best.  Successful completion meets the boating education requirements of the State of Texas, and most states.  This course provides a sound basis for continuing your recreational boating education. America's Boating Course is presented by Austin Power Squadron members, on Thursday, May 25, 2017, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, at Travis County West Service Center, 4501 Ranch Rd 620 N, Austin, TX, 78732.
