About the Course

Anyone born on or after September 1, 1993 who wishes to operate certain vessels on the public waterways of Texas. See Water Safety Act for details. Boating courses are taught by TPWD Boater Education certified instructors, US Coast Guard Auxiliary and game wardens. With more and more people enjoying the lakes and rivers every year, it's important, for everyone, that boaters educate themselves on boating skills and seamanship. Texas Boater Education course will be offered on June 13th, 2021 at the Ransom Canyon Ranch House.  This course will in person classroom and hands on education.  Course is required for anyone born September 1, 1993 or younger that wants to drive a boat or personal water craft.  Minimum age is 13 years old.
