About the Course

Anyone born on or after September 1, 1993 who wishes to operate certain vessels on the public waterways of Texas. See Water Safety Act for details. Boating courses are taught by US Coast Guard Auxiliary, US Power Squadron and trained volunteer instructors, as well as teachers, and game wardens. With more and more people enjoying the lakes and rivers every year, it's important, for everyone, that boaters educate themselves on boating skills and seamanship. All classes are a minimum of six hours. More questions? Check our FAQ page.
Classes are taught by US Coast Guard certified instructors, who are also avid boaters and sailors with many years of experience.  Our volunteers expertise, tips, and experiences enhance the class material.  Class includes information on jet-skis, is 8hrs long, and does not include any time on the water.  Cost is $ 25.00 per person including class materials and TPWD certificate; we accept cash or checks payable on the day of the class.  We offer a discount for families of more than four.  After you pass the test, you become eligible to receive a coupon for a free one year membership to BoatUS (a $30 value); ask your instructor for the form.  For more information visit our website or contact Alfred Zorzi at or 281-802-7006 and leave a message.
