About the Course
Anyone born on or after September 1, 1993 who wishes to operate certain vessels on the public waterways of Texas. See Water Safety Act for details. Boating courses are taught by TPWD Boater Education certified instructors, US Coast Guard Auxiliary and game wardens. With more and more people enjoying the lakes and rivers every year, it's important, for everyone, that boaters educate themselves on boating skills and seamanship. This course is designed for new boaters, young boaters and anyone who wants to learn more about recreational boating. This course will be presented by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and Texas Parks and Wildlife at the Bass Pro Shops training room Katy Mill Mall, Katy TX. The session will run from 9:00am to about 5:30pm and meals are on your own. This course is N.A.S.B.L.A. approved. Successful completion of this course satisfies the State of Texas education requirements for boaters born on or after September1, 1993 for operators that wish to operate power boats greater than 15 horsepower. The course fee is $25.00. Payment due on class day. Pay with cash, money order or check payable to the USCGAUX 6-2. Park in area 4B or 4C. Knock on the front door to be let-in, if necessary. We expect this class to fill quickly. Please register early.
