About the Course
Anyone born on or after September 1, 1993
who wishes to operate certain vessels on the public waterways of Texas. See Water Safety Act for details.
Boating courses are taught by
TPWD Boater Education certified instructors, US Coast Guard Auxiliary and game wardens.
With more and more people enjoying the lakes and rivers every year, it's important, for everyone, that boaters educate themselves on boating skills and seamanship.
All classes are a minimum of six hours.

Texas Boater Education Course Sponsored by Cherokee Water Company
Join us for the Texas Boater Education Course sponsored by Cherokee Water Company! This course is required for anyone born after September 1, 1993, who plans to operate a vessel on public waters in Texas. The class will be held at the Cherokee Water Company main office, located at NK20 Lake Cherokee, Longview, TX 75603. The course runs from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and includes two breaks and a lunch break. The cost is $25.00, which includes a $10.00 fee for state certification, a $15.00 facility fee, lunch, and the chance to win prizes throughout the day. Please, register on this site.
