About the Course

Anyone born on or after September 1, 1993 who wishes to operate certain vessels on the public waterways of Texas. See Water Safety Act for details. Boating courses are taught by TPWD Boater Education certified instructors, US Coast Guard Auxiliary and game wardens. With more and more people enjoying the lakes and rivers every year, it's important, for everyone, that boaters educate themselves on boating skills and seamanship. America's Boating Course including Texas Boater’s License Exam will be presented by Fort Worth Sail and Power Squadron, part of United States Power SquadronsAmerica's Boating Course  is a publication of the United States Power Squadrons.  This is an all-day course, approximately 7.5 hours, covering Boat Safety, Boating Law and Regulations and general Boater Education.  This course is NASBLA approved. Tuition is $35 for materials, ABC book with CDs and $10 for the TPWD Certification, $45 for both materials and TPWD Certification.  Please use the TPWD website to register as it will take extra time to register online the day of the course.  Tuition will be due at the beginning of the course with a check made payable to FWSPS or cash.
