About the Course
Anyone born on or after September 1, 1993 who wishes to operate certain vessels on the public waterways of Texas. See Water Safety Act for details. Boating courses are taught by TPWD Boater Education certified instructors, US Coast Guard Auxiliary and game wardens. With more and more people enjoying the lakes and rivers every year, it's important, for everyone, that boaters educate themselves on boating skills and seamanship. The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary offers its About Boating Safely class at Bass Pro Shops in Harlingen on 12 May 2018, from 8AM to 5PM in the Trophy Room. Students should register with TPWD as set forth in this announcement. The Auxiliary will charge $40.00 for presenting the course, in addition to nominal TPWD fees. The Auxiliary will provide course materials with selected references, and a USCG wallet card upon completion of the course. Call Dennis Patterson at 956-279-6249 for registration.
