About the Course
Anyone born on or after September 1, 1993 who wishes to operate certain vessels on the public waterways of Texas. See Water Safety Act for details. Boating courses are taught by TPWD Boater Education certified instructors, US Coast Guard Auxiliary and game wardens. With more and more people enjoying the lakes and rivers every year, it's important, for everyone, that boaters educate themselves on boating skills and seamanship. Live Instructor - Just for Mariners
This Safe Boating course offered by the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. This class meets the safe boating class required under Texas law for all boaters born on or after 9/1/1993. The class is suitable for all Texas boaters, whether your preferred boat has an outboard motor, an inboard motor, or sails.
This class-room course will give you the knowledge needed to obtain a boat license or safety certification in many states. Some boat insurance companies will offer discounts on boating insurance to boaters who successfully complete About Boating Safely. For youth and adults involved in Girl Scout Mariner sailing, this class is required for adult motorboat operators, and required for Mariners taking Sloop skipper, Sloop captain or big boat ratings.

DATE: Saturday March 23, 2019 (Mariner Work Day at camp)
TIME: The class begins at 8:30am and runs to approximately 4:30 or 5:00pm. Course books, test materials, and lunch will be provided.
COST: Mariners - Course fee is $25. Adults – Course fee is $35. The course fee includes books, test materials, lunch and the state of Texas certification fee.
