Anyone born on or after September 1, 1993 who wishes to operate certain vessels on the public waterways of Texas. See Water Safety Act for details. Boating courses are taught by TPWD Boater Education certified instructors, US Coast Guard Auxiliary and game wardens. With more and more people enjoying the lakes and rivers every year, it's important, for everyone, that boaters educate themselves on boating skills and seamanship. All classes are a minimum of six hours. More questions? Check our FAQ page.
Course will have classroom (indoor) and hands-on activities (outside).  Dress for the weather.  $20 fee due at the door.  Doors will open at 8:00 am to facilitate collecting the fee and taking care of necessary paperwork.  Course begins at 8:30 am, please be on time. Lunch will be provided.  If you have any questions please contact Capt. RJ Shelly at the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Office in Calhoun County (361) 552-9747.
