Amarillo Rifle& Pistol Club hosts Advanced Hunter Education Course. The Advanced Hunter Ed Course features additional instruction above that mandated for a standard short program. For six meetings students attend 2 hours of class room work. This allows the students the time to study the information in the book and the time to do Hands-On training for those" New" to handling firearms safely. This also gives the instructors additional time to impart " Field Safety". An optional, weather permitting, 3 hour Field Day is included. The class has had compass instruction, in class room, and will do a compass course at days start. An Archery Review including Crossbow, a 15 stage "Shoot Don't Shoot" Course, and .22 rifle on 50 yard targets as well as 20 gauge on rolling clay targets. Please Note: All students will need a valid E Mail Address. Students will be provided .22 cal target rifles as well as 20 gauge shotguns with ammo for them. If you want to bring your own Shooting Muffs as well as Shooting Glasses, you may do so. We have those available for use. If you wear glass they will need to be "Shatter Proof" Lenses", if not you will need to bring shatter proof over glasses as our available one will not go over glasses.
