Details There will be a hunter education course on May 15th, 2021. The course will be located at the Petersburg Community Center and will start at 8:00 Am and conclude around 4:00 PM. The intent of this course is to educate young hunters on safety measure that all hunters should know. Students will leave with an understanding of safety measures when hunting, knowing how to hunt and handle firearms safely in and out of the field, and become certified with a non-expiring hunter’s education certificate. In this course, students MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian. If parent/guardian is not hunter education certified, the accompanying of their student through the course qualifies them for certification in addition to their student. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to student and guardians and snacks or drinks can be brought to class. Class and lunch will conclude at approximately 1:00 PM. At the conclusion of lunch, students will carpool to the gun range where live fire will begin. Students and guardians are NOT ALLOWED to bring their own firearms but must use firearms provided by instructors. No live ammunition or firearms may be brought into the class except by instructors. Once live fire is finished, students will be dismissed. Please call Hollis Gregory with any questions at (806) 983-9525
