THIS IS NOT A HUNTING CLASS - it is a new outdoor education program that falls, organizationally, under TPWD Hunter Education. BOSS – Becoming an Outdoor Super Senior – is a new TPWD program offering women over 55 the opportunity to learn about the outdoors. Located at Long Acres Ranch (LAR) in Richmond, this non-profit educational facility hosts over 15,000 visitors each year with a goal toward educating them on all things outdoors, from 5th grade science classes for LCISD, to Boy Scout overnight camps, to TPWD Hunter and Bowhunter Education courses focusing on Conservation and Firearm Safety as well as Angler Education and family fishing in the 6-acre lake. BOSS is similar to TPWD's BOW – Becoming an Outdoors Woman – which offers a variety of introductory classes.
