Who can attend: Any student who is over the age of 9 years old and has taken the online portion of the class with proof of online attendance. Classroom: The class will be given in our comfortable and air conditioned classroom. We still encourage our students to come dressed for the weather conditions as we may go outside for a portion of the field day course. Registration: Students are expected to sign up for the course via this website. (only paying students must register for this course) During peak season August- December we are not responsible if you did not register and arrive on the day of the class without a seat. A limited amount of seating is available. FAILURE TO DO SO BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE DOES MAY RESULT IN STUDENTS OR PARENTS NOT BEING ABLE TO OBTAIN A SLOT (OR SLOTS) FOR ANY GIVEN DATE. Book now to avoid the rush! Student requirements: Students must bring a certificate or a printed copy of their online course completion (quizzes) to this course. This is a field day course of instruction that requires the student to have gone through the online course of instruction. (The required online course is FREE and can be taken at: https://tpwd.texas.gov/education/hunter-education/online-course/hunter-education-online-course) and select option #2 "Online + Field Course". Payment for the course: The course is $15.00 CASH. This $15.00 CASH is separate from any fees that you may have paid for the online course if you did not take it for FREE through the TPWD website. We do not have the ability to process credit card payments at this location. Gun Range: Students will be using air rifles during the shooting portion of the course. The shooting will be conducted in our onsite indoor gun range. We will supply all air rifles and supplies needed. Demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills and attitude while completing the Field Day subjects: ethics and responsible hunting, regulations, hunter skills trail and live firing exercise. (Honorably discharged or active military are exempt from live fire exercises only). Please do not bring any firearms or ammunition! Parental supervision: If the student is under the age of 18, we require that the parent be present during the check in process. After check in is completed, the parent can come back at a time set by the instructor. The parent must return by the time requested as we will not provide supervision of your child after the class conclusion. Refreshments: We do not provide snacks, food, or drinks of any kind. Snacks and drinks are allowed in the classroom area. All drinks must be contained in a closed container (Yeti) or a bottle with a top or cap. Class completion: Take the written exam and score at least 75% correct to pass. Upon successful completion of Parts 1 and 2 of the Enhanced Hunter Education course, you may receive a temporary Texas Hunter Education student card. You may legally hunt with a valid Texas hunting license and your temporary student certification card.
